I don't know why they didn't throw 21s on the x5m

"I don't know why people keep saying the cayenne turbo outperforms the X5M. Pretty much every road test shows the X outperforming the Porsche in acceleration and handling."
It may not outperform it in absolute tests in the hands of professional drivers, but almost anyone can tell the Turbo has way less body roll, feels more planted around curves and is simply more nimble. It should as it has expensive technology on its side (Chassis Control and Torque Vectoring) plus it weighs about 600lbs. less.

So the turbo feels more planted but it physically can't pull as many G's as the X5M in the slalom? So basically it's an illusion because the Porsche in fact does not handle as well as the BMW.
BMW has torque vectoring as well. The only thing the porsche has is a more luxurious interior.
The fact the BMW is 600lbs heavier and still handles better, accelerates faster and stops from 60mph within 2 feet of the Porsche is a testament to th fact that BMW bested Porsche.

This... BMW has the same tech and is as fast if not faster. The cayenne interior is nicer but also less roomy than BMW. One of the main reasons I got it was the utility and space for kids, cayenne barely makes it

I have to second all of the above comments on cayenne vs x5m. The X5M performance is pretty even with the porsche, so it's difficult to call porsche a clear winner.

My choice is X5M.

But how does a X6 M handle as compared to Cayenne turbo S?
A lot will change in the next gen X5 M. E70 X5 M was an afterthought for BMW as they did not want to have an X5 M initially.
M-division was not involved in development of E70 X5, but they were involved in development of X6.

So there will be a next gen X5M? That's great!

When is it coming? Probably in time to trade in the "older" 2013 model.

I wish I was not captured by this 'illusion"....it would save me a bundle!
I drove the 2009 Turbo and TurboS back to back with the X5M and they were close.
The 2012 Turbo driven back to back with the X5M is either a better handler and more fun to drive or a well constructed Illusion. Either way I prefer it .....but wish it was the other way around.

My M3 is Carbon Black, it's a great color when it leaves the car wash, then a few hours later looks like crap again lol, but thats the problem with black color cars. I wish I'd gone with whatever "gray" variant they had at the time.

Nothing wrong with the Turbo, it is a pretty nice car. At the end whatever makes you happy is what matters, none of us is going to be driving these cars anywhere close to their limits so marginal performance advantage is mute point really one way or the other
