Wasn't the X5M in the lead anyway?

I would definitely rather have been a passenger in the M3...

Yes. X5 M is better than M3, but M3 handling is better due to lower CG. I have been on track with both M3 coupe and X5 M back to back. M3 can't beat X5 M on some race tracks.

This is teaser video. Full video to come shortly.

I know you are a very reliable source, but I still just don't see how that's possible. Was the X5 cutting all the corners and throwing a bunch of gravel onto the track like it was in the video?

lol. No, just driving as usual on track. I was at BMW performance driving school on a track(not BMW's PC track). This is where BMW tells drivers to hammer down the car. They had Performance driving school instructors there. The two instructors I talked to said that M3 can't beat X5 M. Maybe M3 can beat X5 M on some other track. I was surprised too, as I know the Nurburgring lap times for M3 and it is good 19 sec ahead of X6 M.

Will wait and see what BMW shows in the final release of the video.

Another member from here was also there.

Man please....in a straight line yes.....on a track C'mon man. That laws of physics are totally against the X. High center of gravity and way too much weight. The video will turn out anyway BMW wants it to. I hope to see one on the track one day so we can get some "real world" results..................Phil

These kinds of threads are not helping my negotiations with the local BMW dealers here in the D/FW TX area for a Monte Carlo Blue 2012 X5M! $2,600 off MSRP is the best price I've seen so far, unreal.

There is no way an X5M would beat M3 on any track, period. It will be close but M3 will have the edge

U should get at least 5% off MSRP.

You can buy from a dealer somewhere else and they will deliver it to u if u want to go that route. Or t least u could show a quote to ur dealer.
