Smile New Member, 2005 BMW X3 3.0i, What should I know?

Hello,
New Member. I just bought a 2005 BMW X3 3.0i for my first car and was wondering if there was anything that I should know about it. Whether it be things to avoid or things to keep an eye on. I am completely new to BMW and want to know more about my car. Thanks for any input whether it be advice or just a hello. I hope to upload pictures later this week.
Thanks.

I would rec'd reading all the threads on the E83 board, and peruse the E53 board, as the X5s in your MY range are very similar, engine/trans/gizmos/stuff, et al, to your car.

E83 is thinly posted...you might set your Thread Tools to always show Today's Posts or New Posts, rather than just wandering back to read the E83 board. Lots of good stuff that may relate in other forums.

You might also post current mileage, what docs/records you have eg service history, the 'model', and maybe some pics.

Welcome to the Boards...

If your car has the Panoramic Moonroof, be warned. The 2004-2006 model years have some scary issues. Search for that and proceed accordingly!

Hockey44;

The main thing you should know is #1 you're gonna have a lot of fun driving your
new X. #2 Set aside some money each month so that when the unknowable happens
you'll be prepared. Some of us do that because we know that mechanical troubles
are just down the road. Until then don't worry about what "could" happen just enjoy
the here and now.
