The GM auto tranny was only headache I had in the X3.
Our 2005 X3 3.0l had a bit of a delay till start engaging the gear when cold. Problem disappeared after a few minutes/miles. I went to a shop and they told me my my transmission is bad with 50k Miles. Losing pressure?! Found a website where some BMW tech mentioned that there is a update for the X3 GM tranny to "delete delay". However I figured out when I reset the transmission with INPA, it was working fine. I had to do that every 2 month and that was fine for me. |

And not by BMW either, if that matters.
