Can someone pls advise what these codes may mean?
Bought an 04 X3 2.5 with the engine light on, I was told it was an O2 sensor. The codes are P2096 P0420 and P0430 From my basic research I think it might be something else... Could it be bad Cats? CCV? Any trouble shooting you can recommend? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by Burnt X5; 03-28-2012 at 01:16 PM.

OBDII Code P0430 BMW - Catalytic Converter Conversion 2 | Engine-Codes.com Yeah, doesn't seem like it would be the O2 sensors, according to those links. How many miles on your X3? I'm not a mechanic or anything, but I'd probably start with any deferred maintenance, like spark plugs or injector cleaner. If that doesn't work, you might need a new cat.
