How will the 2007 X3 facelift affect us?

So I just ordered my new 2006 X3.
The 2007 model will get a facelift, does anybody know how that affects the value of "pre facelift" models. As far as I understand it the X5 facelift that came in 2004(?) was relatively small which meant that unless you knew what you were looking for you were probably not going to be able to tell the "pre facellift" and the "post facelift" models apart.

What do you guys think? Will it be a minor or major facelift and how will it affect all of us with the "pre facelift" X3.
Also how will it affect the value of the car once you want to sell it used?

Thanks!

(I have read some german forums but from what I can tell nobody knows exactly what the facelift will look like perhaps somebody here knows?)

Let the guessing begin! :)

Right, it could be a major facelift, but as far as I have heard the new X5 will be larger than the current one, adding a third row of seats to compete with the larger SUVs. I think its unlikely that they would increase the X3 in size in a facelift. Wouldnt that be a new model?

I keep hearing contradicting reports, in the forums some people mention that the X3 isnt selling very well which could then warrant a major facelift, but others report that it is in fact selling failry well which in my opinion wouldnt warrant a major facelift.

Anybody have other opinions?

(I think there will a new model X3 in three-four years that one will probably be completely different from todays version.

Where did you hear the X3 was getting a facelift in 2007, especially in light of the fact they added the M body kit to the U.S. market X3 in 2006? Doesn't make any sense to me, especially since the X3 has become such a huge success (it outsells the X5 pretty much everywhere except in the U.S.).

A redesign of the X3 isn't scheduled until the 2011 model year according to BMW.

Well over here (Sweden) its pretty much "official". My BMW dealer told me there will be a facellift, the car magazines mention the new facelift and most of the german BMW forums talk about the facelift as well.
In reality of course this doesnt mean much since it seems to be impossible to actually find out what the facelift is all about.

Along the same lines though I thought it was "official" that the new X5 was going to be bigger and have a third row of seats, some people here reject that pretty hard so now I am just confused at least when the X5 is concerned.

But I am pretty sure there will be a facelift for the X3 in 2007...

I just saw a photo of the so called face lift (calling it a face lift is a stretch). It's such a minor change to the plastic bumpers that 9 out of 10 people won't even notice the difference. The change they made with painted bumpers in the U.S. this year was a much bigger change.

Also, there isn't any "changes" scheduled until 2010 for the X3.

But... looking at this photo which was said to possibly be the new X5, I would believe it to possibly be the "changes" for 2007 for the X3. Notice the tail-lights. This vehicle looks to small to be an X5.

Here is another picture:

I almost cannot see any difference, the article says that the biggest change will be made to the interior though so that may explain it.

I really hope they give it a new interior, the current one is a disgrace to BMW, I keep getting them as loaners and I am just shocked at how this interior came together, my x5 is such a beautiful vehicle inside and the x3 just feels like a Rav4 blah!

I dont see the changes, but now I'm expecting my new X3 2006 3.0d and I woluld like the new engine 212 HP vs 231 HP for 2007...

Quote:
At the same time the X3 will get the new fuel engines from the brand- new 3-Series, such as the 2.5 litre/218 HP and for the X3 3.0 Iitre a 3.0 litre/258 HP. The 3.0d is said to be equipped with a six-cylinder delivering 231 HP.
