Exclamation Adaptive Headlight Woes F25 X3 35i

My 2012 X3 35i suffered two warnings on the same day. Adaptive Headlight Malfunction and Low Beam Headlight Malfunction. I swapped left and right bulbs, and the now know that the headlight bulb is not the issue. I suspect that if the adaptive light malfunctions, the car shuts down the low beam to avoid blinding other drivers should the position at failure be pointed in the wrong direction.
Has anyone replaced the adaptive headlight module? I see that it's on the bottom of the headlamp assembly. Let me know if you've seen instructions to access this module...or if you think it could be a ballast or something else.

I have a very basic OBD tool, so I can't see the exact failure.

Welcome any and all advice. Steve

Just had similar issue with Wife's 2016 X3 Xenon adaptive headlight, it was a bad ballast.
