I was shopping Rockauto for replacement window regulator. Priced it without motor, thought about it and priced it with motor. The price was less for the Dorman regulator with motor. On the whole- I have had nothing but good from Rockauto. I too play with various part brand names to get the best shipping cost.

the only reason I went with autozone was because they are local so I can walk into the store with my broken regulator 4 years from now and get another one.

I just dont trust online places like rockauto to honor a "lifetime" warranty like a box store. did I pay more for the part? yeah, but it was still cheaper than oem, has lifetime warranty, and I can walk in when I need to for another one.

if I cant find ANY with a lifetime warranty, then I'll start by buying the cheapest and go from there. yeah it might be hit/miss but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Depends on what. Amazon had a supplier selling MANN filters at a steel ($6 with free shipping!!!). Came in and inspected it and it's good.

But RockAuto does require a little work to get to the bottom line.

I've used the vendors CN90 recommended and it's always been good but if you have time, doesn't hurt to look around for the manufacture of the part rather than just price.

I got my brake rotors off rockauto.

got the pair shipped to me for $50 even. even the parts stores wanted $75 each at a minimum.

been running around on them for about 3 months now and they are doing just fine. they matched up to my oem ones perfectly, only difference was they are new and not worn down from 150k miles of use lol

Yes,definitely if you can find the manufacturer the price will be lower but they usually have minimum order which is like 1k pcs or something.

I wouldn't use an Amazon sourced MANN filter.

A few years back China flooded the market with knock-off MANN filters, it was so bad, they actually got into the BMW dealer parts network in the Middle East!

How did you verified the filter media density, electron microscope?

Video.....

This is why you should use Genuine BMW parts ***Video*** - E46Fanatics

Why "roll the dice" with your engine, Genuine BMW filters are $10 more at the dealer.

- I don't pay shipping cost
- They are cheap, generally $5-$20 range. Plus I can ask their techs if I have any questions.
- They fit perfectly as these jobs (seals, gaskets) take a lot of labor hours.

2. "Other" parts (spark plugs, struts, oil filters etc.)...
- I use only brand-name companies such as NGK, Mahle etc.
- I stay away from URO etc.

My suppliers...
- Auto Parts at AutohausAZ - OEM Auto Parts - Discount Replacement Parts, Resources and Car Care Tips
- European Auto Parts - Wholesale Genuine and OEM Saab BMW Volvo Parts
- BMW Parts, Mercedes, Porsche, Saab, VW, Volvo, Audi and Mini Parts

I wanted to try autohausaz.com, but when I went to my cart, I got this message: No PO Box, APO/FPO or International Shipping.

I can't believe that in 2015 someone with an online business is not able to fill a custom declaration. Oh well.
