Kickdown Hesitation

Hi
My 2002 e53 diesel is having difficulty when im trying to overtake.

The gearbox was refurbished 40k miles ago and its pretty smooth and changes up /down well, however if i am at speed on motorway recently and ķick down to overtake the revs seems to stick around 3500 and there is hesitation for box to change up...

Car now close to 180 k miles.

Any suggestions where to start troubleshooting.

Cheers g
