Perfect timing - my 'Check Side Light' message appeared this week....its the Angel eye bulb. Nothing in Bentley, and couldn't find a video earlier this week for the 00-06 X53 with the Xenon HID bulbs.
Found the bulb on ebay for lowest price vs Amazon and places like BAV. But also see LED bulbs that are as cheap - but I guess I'd need 2 of those. |

Question for the bulb guru.
I will buy Hella Angle Bulbs soon. BMW PN is 63126916097. Just want to confirm that I need qty = 2? There are 4 lights total (Low-Beam, High-Beam on each side)...how come one angle light bulb is good for both rings of the LB and HB on the same side?

No need to replace the entire (expensive) lamp assembly - you can simply replace the 12v 10W halogen (BA9S) bulb itself, for a couple of dollars.
https://youtu.be/GDApyupw_1Y I have used no-name and Osram bulbs (#64113) but the best I've found so far (in terms of performance and longevity) are the Flosser 12v 10W BA9S Halogen bulbs (#4010). Remeber that these are halogen bulbs and so need to be kept clean. Wipe them clean with isopropyl alcohol once you've fitteed them to the reflector.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, you only need two - one left and one right. The "light pipes" (a form of plastic optical conduit) directs the lamp output to both "angel eyes" or halo on each headlight assembly.

Should halo look that video bright? Of course, the harder side is now shown.
I assume no LED fits the halogen socket.

I replaced mine with the LED's just because I like the white light look.

Between yellow and white, I like white.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N66k8svkb9k Do you have a part number? The video guy used an LED 240LM 10W bulb.

Agreed - Same here. I had thought I liked the whiter LEDs, but after going through a couple of them (burned out), I decided to go back to halogen. IMHO, the yellow halogen gives it a bit more of a menacing look at night, especially after disabling the corner lights like those in your picture! The white LED washes out with any kind of daylight around.
