Preparing to Do Alternator Bracket Oil Seal- Advice Needed

So i am 99% sure my 4.8is has sprung the dreaded alt bracket oil leak. I am ordering the parts and have read the written DIY that was posted not to long ago. I am wondering if anyone else has any advice. Any other parts I should replace while I am at it?

I had this done last year, my mechanic did it,it is a pain in the ass,You will have to remove the front driver side axle , and to get to the screws to get it off You will have to lift the engine a little, total he charged me 7 hours, to replace a $8 gasket...................be careful not to damage other hoses and parts down there........

There's some good info in this DIY from the Pelican Parts website. Read the comments section too for X5 specific comments.
