side mirror doesn't stay folded (not micro switch related)

My driver's side mirror unfolds itself which seems to be a pretty common problem. Googling and looking at the old posts, they all point to the micro switch.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think it has anything to do with it. Reason why? I accidentally completely broke off the white/blue wires but when I press the mirror folding button from inside the car, it still folds then unfolds. Sometimes it even stays folded but will fold unfold the next time.

If the micro switch wires are completely broken off, the mirror folding function would not work at all, am I wrong?

How do I reconnect them? They are broken off clean on the switch that it's impossible to reconnect.

Late answer but it could be the microswitch still. Mine did the same (fold in then right back out) and the microswitch was "dislodged" so it was not detecting the mirror fold state. The bugger is - one side failing causes both mirrors to misbehave, so you have to open up both mirrors to find the problem (and it may be a problem with one or both microswitches!).

It could be ficsator...I had same problem! Push broken mirror manually to the front and then back! That is how I resolved problem for one year every time when it folded back by it self! When it was broken completelly I went to service! Probably that plastic ficsating thing is ended... not a big problem! Common issue!
