Is there a secret to replacing the cold air duct hose for alternator?
Today, I went about fixing 2 issues on my 06 x5 3.0 104K miles. The expansion tank had a hairline crack and I was loosing coolant, and I had an oil leak I believe coming from the oil filter housing, so I replaced the gasket. Everything went well, and what know one complains about is the cold air hose connected to the alternator. I just can't seem to get it on both sides, if I get it on one it pops out the other. Any tips? All done except for this. |

Been there, I feel your pain.
Can't remember how I finally got both ends connected; but I seem to recall doing the round end at the alt first. There's no leverage at the bottom, you try to push it together and it just flexes. I DO remember my fingers hurt for days.
