CCFL Angel eyes inverters replacement!

Reading the Forum and members experiences in replacing these inverters ,some seem to go through a few a year and even consider these as a normal "consumable" item!
Personally ,and after reselling quite a few,I only had one go faulty ,after 9 months and I just simply replaced it,with another cheapest Ebay item.
These are similar spec---OUPUT 900V-LAMP 300MM-5Ma-8Ma.

I have now found an upgraded alternative Ebay item ,costing 3x more and with higher specs(OUTPUT 1.2KvA-LAMP 450MM-5Ma-12Ma) and a claim that it makes the angel eyes brighter .
Has good feedback and heres the link.

I will be getting some myself

^^Looking good Fernando - I agree mostly its making the connections water tight which is why they fail - a lot of times the inverters are outside the headlight housing and any moisture can make them fail

Post up how they do when you get them installed

Over about 7 years of using CCFL's (switched to LED's in 2008ish)... I had 2 inverters fail. As RB mentioned, water tightness is the key to keeping them alive.

Hi Jay,
Agree with in that they do get moisture on the inside and they are poorly sealed (a bit like the DEPO headlights) ,which is why I always reseal them .
I only ever fitted these on the outside attached to the back of the headlight and away from heat sources and some here complaining that ,they heated up and expanded!

Did you get your faulty SMD lamp replaced?I didnt fit the SMDs on mine but resold them on a set of headlights I modded ,so I am a bit concerned that if SMDs goes bad ,I will have to open headlight again

Yes I have a new ring on the way from the supplier as we speak - should be an easy R&R and allow me to double check sealing of my lamp -

The other 3 rings are doing great and I anticipate the one that has some failing LED's as just a defect.
