Just finished PCV/Oil Separator, now X5 Stalls

Hi guys,

Yesterday I finished replacing the PCV system in my 3.0. What a pain in the ass that job is. When I finished I started the car up and everything seemed to be fine. Drove it around the block and when I wen to brake the car just stalled. Fired it back up and gingerly drove it home. When I got home it sounded like it was running fine, but when the car is in park if I give it a little gas the car starts to stall, if it is in drive and I give it gas it goes fine. does feel a little sluggish. I did get a check engine light. (INPA Code 65). Any ideas what my problem could be? I looked at the intake hose and it appears okay. I googled the INPA code and some people say that it means an issue with the cam shaft sensor. Any ideas???

Thanks for any help.

I would re-checking sensor connectors. Starting from camshaft position sensor.

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
Check your connections and on the CCV as well, sounds like a vacuum leak - did you clean your ICV and throttle body and check them out?

I did not clean either the ICV or the throttle body because the looked clean. I did install a new throttle body gasket, and it looked like it was seated properly. The car was running fine before I did this.

I will re-check all my connections.

When working on motor vehicles be in the camp that there are no coincidences.

Either one of the hose is not seated correctly or you broke something while doing this job.

This. I did the EXACT same thing with my x5. Did the CCV, put it back together, car would stall at stop lights when hitting the gas. Turned out to be the main harness box plug. I'm surprised it even ran.

Turns out it was the Camshaft senor was not plugged in. Plugged it back in and the car runs great.

Thanks for the help.
