X5 3.0i Oil Filter Housing Gasket DIY

Here's the complete oil filter housing gasket replacement DIY video. It took some time to film and do the work, but overall the job was not bad! I started it one evening and finished up the following morning.

Tip for reinstallation:

The bolts that secure the OFH to the engine are all different sizes. Get a piece of cardboard and punch holes in the cardboard to hold the bolts as you remove them. This will keep track of the locations of the bolts.

Did this recently on a e39 with a friend of mine. This tip is very valuable and we did the same and make sure on the carboard you put the orientation. This was actually surprisingly simple process the only pain came when trying to reinstall the alternator back in place and align. Not sure how different this is than an e39.

I did this, and it had to be one of the most annoying things I've done yet. Not hard per se, but for me at least, one of those things where I was just trying to rush, and everything kept going wrong (seems to be the way doesn't it)?

When it start to leak for round 2, i'll admit, I had an indy do it, because I didn't have the stomach for it.

Maybe when round 3 comes, I'll try it again.
