Just replaced my rear air with springs. I now have Bill HD all the way around. I needed quick replacement so I went with tourtech springs. They came with all the hardware and installation was pretty straightforward. I suggest you look for suplex/BMW.
I notice it's louder when going over big bumps. It is less responsive than air, but is stiff enough for great handling. A very small amount of added body roll during long,sharp curves.
If you are not replacing your upper control arms and wish to simplify this exchange than a small spring compressor is a very good tool. Large one for the front I recommend you remove the rear sensors before trying to install the springs. BTW, there are some cool lowering kits now as well. Good luck.
