The factory sub can only be installed with DSP Top Hi-Fi. The loom for the sub is part of the main audio wire harness.

So my amp only has one area where the main harness comes out. I'm guessing that's the input and output? I'm also guessing I have the wrong amp? The amp I need has 3 hookups on it including one for the sub box? The radio was replaced with a non dsp radio so I guess the amp was too. I still have the old radio so I guess I'll get a new ribbon and fix the pixels. Thanks

If your amp only has one large loom connector then it is only "hi-fi" whereas the amp with three connectors is the dsp "top hi-fi". I don't think you ever had a DSP w/SUB system. If it did then the PO went through much effort and money to downgrade the audio system; new MID, AMP, and full wiring harness. And re coded at the dealer to boot.
The other connector that you're finding that says AMP that's in your spare tire area is likely pre-wiring for PDC (park distance control).

Great deal on your sub. I paid significantly more for mine.
I added a factory sub to my non DSP sounds system. Wasn't plug and play. But in the end I think it turned out great. It is all hidden away and sounds better than I had expected based on others reviews. Yah it's not bug your neighbor thumping loud but was an improvement. I had to add an aftermarket amp to my factory amp to make it work. (get an amp with balanced inputs or a line converter). The speakers in the amp are dual voice coil. And all 4 pairs of wires come to the connector. I soldered up the connector to bridge the voice coils leaving me with 2 pair of 4 ohm inputs instead of 8 2 ohm connections. I've thought of replacing the 2 factory speakers with one larger aftermarket. But no time at the moment to play with such things. Thaniel |
