Stupid Question? Front Driveshaft Servicing... Now Rear Shaft Stuck? SUCCESS!!!

So, probably a dumb question... but can you over grease the rear of the front driveshaft splines? I admittedly got a little "well if some is good, more is probably better" ham fisted with the NLGI 2 grease.

Will this be an issue or am I going to have to remove the front shaft again to remove some grease? Perhaps I should have asked this question before doing the guibo (old was failing), moving the drain, and greasing the shaft splines at the TC.

Thanks for any input/ridicule/facepalming in advance.

I highly doubt it. It doesn't have any fore/aft movement too it and I'm 99% sure that female end is just sealed empty space.

I think with your application you just sealed the system.

If you can't push the shaft all the way onto the splines, then yes, you added too much grease.

^That was my concern.

I was able to install it... I was able to push it all the way on, and further as you would when removing the guibo and centering plate of the driveshaft. It would push back out if I didn't hold it forcefully but as I said, I was able to install the shaft, plate, and guibo without issue. Think I should remove some of the grease? There was none in there upon removal. Just slight remnants of what might have been grease. No corrosion/rust though (thank goodness).

Hopefully. Removing it again would suck... though I have not reinstalled the stiffening plate for just this reason. Just sucks having to get the wife to hold the brakes while I remove the 3 bolts holding the guibo to the front diff.

If the X is running fine and no mysterious new noise then leave it alone.

Crystal works if you were able to push it all the on like it was before the grease then their should be no problems as to why should have to remove and take off some of the grease. Its seated properly and done properly. The factory should of had some grease on these splines to begin with but that was one of the programs cost saves of the day.

This is what I was hoping. I reinstalled the stiffening plate last night and am working on the rear driveshaft. Taking forever because I can't get the bolts and the plates to come out of the driveshaft at the rear diff. As a result I don't have any clearance to get the driveshaft off... ughhh.

Going back out there in a minute after paying some bills and finishing my coffee. I'm sure I'll get it off, just a PITA when you are doing the job on your back on a creeper. But what are you gonna do?

Alright boys... got all the plates and bolts out of the rear CV joint on the rear shaft. Now the rear of the shaft is free... but I can not get the front out of the TC??? It moves freely and I dropped the CSB... but I am afraid to bend the U joints to much as I don't want to put too much stress on the output of the TC.

Any suggestions? Supposedly this is possible without dropping the heat shield and exhaust... but I am really starting to doubt that.

EDIT: BTW, I was going to remove the guibo from the front of the TC but the bolts are all stuck in the guibo. Got the nuts off as far as I could, but the bolts (all 3) are stuck fast in the guibo. So far no amount of prying, banging, or cursing as gotten me anywhere.

EDIT x2: In an effort to seem a little less incapable I put on my big girl panties and went back down there with the larger "persuasion tools." Got 2 of the 3 guibo bolts/nuts out. The third seems to have fused itself to the metal sleeve in the guibo. Unfortunately this sleeve is just spinning when I hit it with the impact. Any idea how to break the rust bond between the spinning sleeve and the bolt?
