Angry 4.8is strange oil pressure / oil level behaviour

Since yesterday evening I have the following issue:
after driving some kilometers (about 10km) and engine gets warm (outside temp is below 0°C / 32°F) I will get the "STOP! Oil pressure" warning if the engine gets down to idle rev.
Checked the CCV - both membrane are fine, passenger side membrane is a little bit polluted by the white oil slime but not cracked (ordered a new one today and will replace the passender side one). As soon as the engine gets to higher revs, the warning will disappear. Engine sounds good at idle.
After turning the engine off I will get the "check oil level" warning. Dip Stick was kind of dry directly after turning the engine off.

Checked oil level this morning: everything was fine, after about 10km same procedure as yesterday evening... Turned off: "check oil level", dip stick is nearly dry.

Since about 2 weeks - after engine gets warmer (>10km) - it kind of "rattles" and "shakes". According to the error codes the ignition coil on cylinder 5 was broken, replaced it by a new BOSCH one. Other fault code stored was "vanos inlet" on bank 1 & 2, which sounds like the vanos solenoids to me (clogged maybe?).
Maybe this has to do something with the oil pressure thing I got since yesterday as the vanos solenoids are controlling the oil pressure for the vanos itself?

Other assumption: oil "non-return valves" - postion 8 at RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog

Any suggestions? Maybe someone of you guys already had this issues?

Oil pump shouldn't be the issue in my opinion because the oil level is too low after engine gets warm, so it seems to work correctly, right?
Ordered a new oil pressure sensor today, but I don't think that it's broken...

It's a 08/2006 4.8is (N62) and has about 155.000km

Same thing happened with our 08. Start it up it's fine. Let it warm up about 15-20mins oil pressure warning. Replaced the switched and now it's gone. Praying to god that that was the issue. Engine never shook or anything but that sounded like a misfire ok your end. Does it still rev fine and pull like it used to or do you feel a difference in how it drives?

Thank you for your reply... Just gives me some hope I'm also praying it's just only the switch.

I found out that there is a pressure control valve in the oil pump (part 7 - 10 RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog) which will engage the second stage if the pressure is below 2 Bar - maybe this could also be an issue here

Yeah maybe my engine problems are because of clogged vanos solenoids. Will check this ASAP.
It revs fine and seems to pull like it should - but I haven't driven any other 4.8is - so I have no real comparison.

He way I see it is if if you can't feel the difference or hear it then it's not a big issue and most likely the switch. You would definitely hear those valves ticking if oil was being pumped up to them. Maybe someone else could chime in with similar symptoms or codes. Hopefully it's not a big issue beat of luck to you man. You

Doesn't look good so far: at least 2 liters of oil where missing, don't know why but as I checked the dip stick, some drops on the inside of the dip stick hose must have tricked me that there was enough oil inside the engine

I guess I had lost some oil by the clogged bank 1 CCV during the last 2 or 3 cold days - but didn't notice any smoke - strange...

What I've done so far: filled up missing oil, cleaned CCV, replaced bank 1 CCV valve (new BMW one), changed the oil pressure sensor (new BMW one). But now I get "oil pressure warning" soon after starting the engine at idle rev... Didn't let it run for longer than some seconds after the warning appears but engine runs fine, no rattling, just a smooth running V8...

Suggest you clear trouble codes and see if it returns.

Did anyone of you know of problems with the oil pump?
I know it consists of 2 stages, maybe the second stage (or it's control valve) doesn't work in my case?

Which other parts could probably cause such a pressure loss?
Faulty vanos solenoids? Non-return valves?

Any idea is appreciated

Made some progress: pulled the "non-return valves" (position 8 at RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog) they are located (3 for each bank) in front of the intake manifold, underneath the throttle housing.

One was clogged by some paper strip - which I suppose was a piece of an old oil filter. This would explain the oil pressure problem as well as the vanos solenoid problem...

Ordered them today and they will arrive tomorrow - fingers crossed that there won't be further issues

Since oil pressure is so critical and the light only lets you know when pressure is critically low I suggest that even if the oil pressure warning goes out that you remove the oil pressure switch and manually check the oil pressure. Pressure gauges are not that expensive and many auto parts stores will rent them with the rent amount returned when you return the gauge. Hopefully there is no more paper in the engine but I would remove the oil pan and check the oil pickup and check the magnets for filings. Certainly oil needs to be changed and I use never use anything other than a genuine BMW filter.

To avoid miss reading the oil level, remove and wipe and wipe until the oil shows completely around the stick. Once that is the case check it at least one more time to verify the level. You mentioned you checked the oil in the morning. Oil should be checked at operating temp. to avoid overfilling.
