HVAC clean

I removed the air conditioner controller

The inlet section was full of dust
The unit pops out easily with the aid of a screw driver
The little tabs holding it all together are opened very easily.
The screen is easy to clean when it is all open like this.

The buttons are also a lot easier to press now once cleaned

Ediabas software watching the graphs

I have a copy of Ediabas and Inpa on a laptop.

The graph I liked the most was the cylinder balance graph.

I watched the graphs, and the readings are a lot better after the repwirs to the inlet manifold.
I replaced all the inlet manifold gaskets.
I also did a clean up if the injectors, nothing special, just removed them, sprayed card cleaner into them and installed them again.

I will see where the original graph is.

The one I copied today looks a lot better and more even compared to the first time I recoreded the graph.

I looked at the error codes.
Seems the knock sensors are an issue
The aux fan has been removed, so that error is there
The mapping of thermostat is another fault shown
Will have a look into that.

LU meter before some repairs

I found the LU meter readings before I did the repairs.

A marked difference

There must have been air leaks through the old gaskets
And seems doing a basic clean of injectors might also have made a difference.

So next on the engine is the O2 sensor. Both before the cats
1. O2 sensor. A pair. The readings using Inpa shows they as erratic

Wasnt a busy weekend
Replaced the wind screen wipers.

And ordered a new set of pixels for the dash

Should be here later the week, then I see why it beeps at me.

Fuel consumption has come down from 18ltr/100 to 15ltr/100 on the same roads.
So doing the inlet gaskets made a big defference.

The aux air fan that adds air to the exhaust on start up also works now.
It didnt work until I replaced the inlet manifold gaskets.

So a lot to be said for changing them.

That's pretty good, I've got that after I did my vcg right after I got her, was leaking bad... but I gotta do it again since I'm doing the TCG...

So after a beer it worked

Got home and unpacked all the bits
Pixelfix is the place I got it from.
Nice colour pamphlets
And screw driver etc.

Took it all apart as per the instructions.

Did the ribon cable once, tested, didnt work,

Got a cold beer, had a quiet think and tried again.

Success.

Now I know why it beeps at me.

List as follows.
Brake lights
Tail lights
Brake linings
Active suspension inactive.

The suspension I know about,
The rear lights is probabaly the bad connections
Brake linings need to be replaced and the sensor replaced.

So it was worth the effort.

Photos show the before, during and after.
