Pre Facelift X5 Headlamp Housing

Has anyone successfully installed LED turn signals in the front headlight housing for the X5 E53? I am speaking of 2001-2003 models with OE headlight housings?

RB which ones did you go with? The ones that I have in the car look so weak with the park lights on you can hardly detect them.

Yeah mine are pretty weak too - I have the old Bimmian or Stealth Auto (same company now) but I just live with it. They blink bright enough when I'm turning LOL

I've been meaning to code off the amber on my parking lights too

So I got the same ones as you. Mine came from bimmian and has the same light output characteristic as yours. They flash with great intensity but real low output on the park light circuit. Meanwhile I had replaced the side marker bulbs with a set of leds from weiss leicht and man what a difference.

^did you do the side marker housings themselves? I have been contemplating swapping mine out I have the dark smoked halogen ones and with the chrome bulbs those are also quite weak.

I pulled my headlghts apart a few years, modified them, installed angel eyes and LED turn signal lights. No problems whatsoever.
