Well, here's a new one

On our '02 replacement X5 (3.0) that we have just put all this work into after it was leaking from about everywhere it could when we bought it.

My daughter did her first deep clean yesterday. As she was vacuuming the passenger seat, a razor blade came out into the vacuum from a crevice in the car.

Can you guess what she found under the seat?

It's a good thing she hasn't been pulled over, because the bag with white powder in it probably would have sent her to jail.

The respect-o-meter for the prior owner just keeps going up.

Man, you should start writing a book about that X5... it's really seen some stuff in its life. Who knows what else you'll find in there?

I hope nothing more like that. The kid was pretty freaked out.

Although, she did take a pic of the blade and the powder laying on the seat, and sent it to her sister, which prompted full sister freak out mode.

Never though of an X5 as a "dealer" vehicle of choice. This definitely is the first time I heard this.

I've always thought of it as a dealer vehicle... just imagine an X5 with 22" black rims and everything blacked out with super dark limo tint. I saw tons of those back when I lived in NYC.

Danny - we don't have that sort of car. I think ours was more of a "user" car.

That explains why it was leaking oil everywhere, had bad tires, and the radiator wasn't secured in place.

No cash left to maintain the car I suppose.

One one of my early deep cleanings of my x5, in the back somewhere (under fuses, maybe?) I found a plastic device that smelled of weed, with weed in it. Laughed, showed my kids, and threw it out.

Would not have been a problem though, out here in CA, we are a sanctuary from all laws, I think.

I did wonder if I should take it by my local police station to see if they wanted to let their drug sniffing dogs give it a once over for training purposes.
