Does anyone have a photo of what the dangling wire looks like? To see if I have it or not.

Not sure if I missed the part how to run the wires if you don't have them at all? I'll try to look up the diagram.

Looks like just a couple of wires from the general module.

It is just a couple of wires. I’ll take a photo of the loom in the morning...

Yes. Wire colours match the diagram.

I think I found one, kinda hard to tell, some kind of a weird serial number, can't find it on realoem.

I dont see the plug, but maybe it's on the other side that's not photographed?

no servotronic option listed, but the plug is present

I was cleaning up my messy wiring underhood of my 2001 yesterday, when I spotted the servotronic plug, but there's no option for the S216A rack on the VIN decoder. So, I guess that even early X5's had the harness, though the option wasn't yet offered.

I also uncovered the DWA Siren, which I buried 2.5 years ago (under spray foam and mothball packets, to deter pests). Was it included in the S302 Alarm package? It's never worked while I've had it, and I'd prefer not to have it go off at night anyway, but even after 2.5 years, I'm still uncovering new things.

I'm enjoying retrofitting all the options into my 2002 X5.
Seems like servotronic racks are extremely scarce on ebay.
Dealer wants almost 5k CAD

Not sure if this brand is any good

Never heard of maval, but being sold on fcpeuro maybe its good...

You get lifetime warranty so there should be no worries but remember there's a core charge of $200 and the core is supposed to be servotronic not regular steering rack. I have this in my to-do list after adding spacers on 2005 4.4. The steering is really heavy now. It obviously feels great when driving but parking and such, it's a chore.
