But you have my full and unequivocal support and agreeance on the above thought. Shoot, my wife's x35d is so much fun with it's 425ftlbs of torque that it makes the 4.8 feel a little sluggish at certain points in the power band. Has me thinking stupid thoughts like remote turbos or something equally fiscally unsound.

Yes, the Eonon GA6166 is a little quirky but great upgrade and with a retrofit OEM sub connected to an aftermarket amp it's great sounding.







The calculations I did with this:

Subwoofer Wiring Diagrams

yielded 2 ohms with all the voice coils connected in parallel

That's awesome. My install is very similar to yours, down to the wiring of the box. It's funny how much abuse the little factory 6" subs can take.
I attached a hard wire to the back of my Eonon and pulled it back towards the dash chassis. The unit kept slipping out. The shims are a good idea as well!
