Front Signal Lights CK or Standard Sockets???

Googled and searched but have come up dry so far. I am switching to LED front signal lights (did the rears already) and need to know if these use a CK style socket or a standard socket? I can go test mine if nobody knows, but I figured I would ask anyway just in case. Also this thread will exist so that future seekers of info can find it.

Solved... I think.



There are only 2 contacts in the socket of our face lifted e53's... can not speak for pre-face lift. From this I am surmising that the e53 uses a standard 3157/3155/3457/4157 bulb type and the LCM just switches between a signal 12v and a parking light 12v. If anyone else has any input please chime in. I'll be ordering the LED towers and resistors and see how nice they play with the socket.

I had these left over from my wife's old Optima SX that we had. Been in 2 of our Optimas and now into the X5. I did have to shave one of the locking nubs down because these weren't exactly the correct bulb type, but close enough. They are nice and bright and LED's are always better than incandescent.
