Hi Upex,

Ah I see you are in sunny Norfolk, feels like a million years ago but I used to live in Coltishall when I was in the RAF so many fond memories of Norfolk.

So did a smooth idle test at the weekend and Injector 3 and 4 are operating outside parameters (its a cool bar chart in INPA) but they are slightly out.

Might need recoding but that is beyond my knowledge, if someone on here knows the right values for M57 engine cylinder 3 and 4 that would be great. If not its off to the BMW specialist.

All glowplugs and glowplug regulator
New discs and pads all round

Norfolk great, I'm from Manchester originally, but been a mission last week with the snow, had 14 inch here lol

I did! I found 3 and 4 where coded incorrectly. On the side of the injectors there are 2 sets of number values like 259 659 these are the code you input for each individual injector to INPA so the ECU knows the parameters.

Rather than get the injectors out, I bought a cheap usb endoscope and fiddled around with it until I could see the codes. Easier than getting the injectors out.

Has sort of improved things, but its not getting away from the fact that injector 3 is well out of range still....

so its an injector replacement for me. I will get an old one of ebay then get Watson Diesel of Wimbledon to rebuild it for me.

Hope that helps. Snow in London was nothing but a light dusting, we got of lightly but the x5 was VERY frosty for a few days!

Glad you got it sorted, least hope it's all ok when injector 3 resolved.

What symptoms led you to injectors?

I can't get my inpa etc working, so flying blind.

Lack of power and lumpy idle started me to look at what they issue was, but I crossed of a list from glow plugs and regulator by replacing them and still having the same issues. after getting INPA and watching the bar charts I could see the injectors playing up. With smoke on startup, it led me to find out that an injector had gone.

So perhaps not good for me, as idle solid. Drats. But glad you got it sorted.

Where you get inpa? need to sort one out.
