The Ibus plugs into the USB port on the back of the radio. You connect the red wire to switched 12v. The brown goes to ground & the white goes to the Ibus. The green you won’t be using. Also see instructions here. IBUS Interface for BMW cars

I used the the “other” amp or antenna power turn on source to power the Ibus device, I used the ground to the radio & I used the now defunct radio Ibus wire (it’s colored exactly as described in the link).

Now I just have to install the IBUS. Where would I be tapping into for that now knowing the setup I have?
Let me go back thru this stuff and find the pic of the plug and ibus wire.

Pin 9 should be your ibus connector. Its in the large block section on the top left of the connector in this picture.

Now, this unit has 2 USB ports, #24 & #26, does it matter which I use for the IBUS stick?

Sorry for my noobness, but electrical wiring was never my strong suit. When you guys say "connect the red wire to switched 12v" how am I making these connections? Strip the wires and twist together? snap on connections?

I really work better with pictures and step by step proceedures

Either usb plug will work. I used the one labeled for 3g or something but again either will work.

As for wiring use this :

BMW IBUS Adapter – Android | Crowz Nest

I used fuse #7 in the fuse box in the glove box. I used a fuse tap for this. You remove the fuse and put the fuse you removed into the tap and then plug the tap into where the fuse was in the fuse box.

I have been emailing Seicane to see what their fix is. They say that sound is not stable. That I need to splice wires into the CD connection so DSP is working. Unfortunately I discarded the CD player about 3 weeks ago. IBUS has not yet arrived. Will the IBUS solve my unstable sound issue or do I need to find a CD player?

I can’t say if the Ibus will solve your issue, but I don’t think they meant for you to splice into the actual CD player. I presume they meant it’s wiring or similar. Unfortunately it seems we’d need to see the emails or have more information.

The fix is to cut the wires coming out of the CD player and splice wires from the harness to the CD player wires, leaving the connection in the CD player. I understand how to fix the problem based on Seicane email.

I'm only asking if the IBUS will fix the issue without needing to connect the harness wires to the CD player that I trashed some time ago.

The ibus interface should solve it but if it doesn't we'll figure something out.
