How do you set it so the ibus app boots up with the stereo?
Mine just does it automatically. But let me look at the screen shots I took to see if I can find an option for that.

I just looked and at the bottom of the "Settings" menu is a check box for time and date.

Yep I found that just now too. Seems that's what makes it sync. As long as the radio has the right time it should keep the obc set correctly all the time.

Another question i have is for example when i open the drivers door (opposite side here in UK), then passenger door on the ibus app car icon opens instead lol?

I think I remember reading somewhere on the forum the ibus app guy uses where some people had that problem with certain versions of the app.

Mine works fine showing the correct door when it opens and the hood, the hatch, etc.

It even shows the sunroof open but it goes by the pano cover on that. If the sun shade cover isn't closed it shows the sunroof open.

Anyone else with aftermarket head unit have issues with the viewing angle?

With the shape of the X5's dash, the head unit is pointing kind of upwards and it is affecting the viewing angle.

For example you have to sit up high so you can kind of see it clearly, especially for anyone sitting in the back trying to look at it.

I haven't sat in the back seat to see how well it shows up from there. Does fine from the front seat to me. I plan on adding rear screens for the people in the back seat to watch movies on so that wont be a problem on that part at least.

But even sitting in the front, its still not as clear as if u sit up and look at the screen directly square on, especially when watching a video.

My brother installed an Eonon head unit in his e46, but because the screen is completely vertical, the viewing angle is perfect from any direction, even from the back seats.

Well you could rig up a lift on the back side of the radio and manually tilt it more to adjust the angle I guess. I haven't noticed a problem so I'm not really sure what to recommend. The E53 has a funky dash shape for sure radio wise.

Haha i'm not that desperate. Took me ages to get the damn thing to fit perfectly into the dash.

Only silly thing is there are no screws holding the bottom edge of the screen in place, as there were only 2 screw holes at the top corners. So i am wondering if slowly the bottom of the unit will start to come out because the back end of the unit is top heavy so every time you go over a bump it would start to creep outwards from the bottom?

What is your experience with this? Did you also only have 2 screws at the top?
