Ok it seems they are still separate wires looking at your picture. I have no clue what to tell you to hook those to.

All three are two separate wires in two separate slots that are spliced together with one of three colors, and, each spliced wire connects to one of three black wire on the harness. Question is---does it matter which spliced wire is connected to the which black wire or is it any spiced wire to any black wire on the harness? Since the wires on the harness are all black are they all for the same purpose?

It doesn't say in that diagram what those wires are for. Just than its 3 positive and 3 negative. So in theory the 3 positive could go together to any positive 12 volt connection and the 3 negative wires can go together to a negative source. That's the only thing I can even remotely determine from the diagram. I cant really give you a straight answer since I don't know and I don't want to be responsible for messing up something on your X5.

Nope - not positive and negative - these are balanced data feeds, which are labelled at (+) and (-) for the two "poles" of the data feed.

X18802 goes to the nav unit at the back of the car (A112) and connects via X1313: -

https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...is-sav/ZQmXpXF

The relevant pins on X1313 are 5,6,7,12,14,15 &16.

No idea what "data" these three data lines carry...

Might be what feeds the screen. He wasn't able to get anything back on the screen the last time he tried wiring it back up.

Thanks for the info. I believe the 7200 will work without it. At least I hope so.

The connector I am asking about goes to the back of the Nav screen I removed from the dash. So if X18802 connects in the rear it is not the connector I need the placement/color of wires.

It is correct that the last time I reconnected the blue and white connectors to the back of the Nav screen in the dash I could not get the unit to display anything, there was some power to it as the screen was dim.

I am going to try to get back to the system that worked fine (again) before
I started this fiasco. First step is to make sure the wires in both connectors are in the correct numbered slots. I have confirmed the slots/colors for the blue connector. I need to do the same for the white connector. Until I feel sure the wires are correctly installed I am not going to see if it will work as it was before I started this fiasco. I will be very surprised it it works, but it should be easier to troubleshoot.

I meant that the "other end" of those wires goes to the Nav unit at the back (called A112) via connector X1313 - yes, this white connector (X18802) goes into the back of the Nav screen (called A196).

All the information about these connectors is in the docs at newtis...

Link does not show the slot and color of the wires for 18802 and if I am supposed to be able to click on 18802 on the diagram and it takes me to the info I need it doesn't pull up anything.

Since I haven't removed any wires from connector 18802 all I really need to know is if the clear wires wrapped in either white, red or black need to be connected to a particular black wire in the harness or if doesn't matter---any wrapped wire can be connected to any black wire in the harness.

If those are data wires then I would make sure they went back exactly as they were to start with. Power wires are not particular as long as they match. Data wires have to be exact 99.9% of the time.
