Yes, the app provides the same functions the original mid or nav system did along with a host of other features.

Incredible! Another thread on the E39 bimmerfest forum claims it can also configure the angle eyes as DRL; is that true?

I'm not sure I believe that. Factory angel eyes as DRL is an elusive mod no one has been able to crack without wiring. It would do things such as triple blink turn signals, folding mirrors on key fob, unlocking doors when ignition off, etc. Crowz posted some info early in this post about the functionality of the IBUS app. Look around page 2 or 3.

w00t, w00t! What the heck am I doing with my silly goose dynavin N6 (I hear the N7 is no different). I'm going to get rid of it and get an Android unit.

Yes, all functions of the cluster can be changed or reset within the app.

When you order the model for DSP it comes with all cabling you need. I added a 3 place USB hub and the IBUS app with DSP so cluster functions are available. I purchased their Sony backup camera and the DVD player. In hindsight I would have done that independently. The Sony camera works fine but at some point I will be replacing it with something better. Hi BCredliner, thanks very much for the info! Would you recommend that I get the N7 or the Seicane? Seems almost a toss up, but i definitely want to have rear view camera and tv tuner... the rest of the functions like dvr and recording live videos aren't that important to me.

I assume features like the gps and bluetooth phone and music streaming work great on both models?

Does both model work with the dsp stereo with our E53?

Both support DSP.

The Seicane overall instructions are almost useless and there is nothing regarding DSP installation. It was not plug and play for me and Seicane support was also useless. Bluetooth and phone work fine and were easy to set up connections. I haven't tried to stream music but others here have had no problems. After getting through the problems I personally had with Seicane install I am very pleased. Sound quality is dramatically improved. I still have to resolve why I can play DVDs but they don't load automatically and the Torque app will not connect to the OBD bluetooth receiver. At this point I think it is a problem with DVD player and the bluetooth connector. They were both purchases from Seicane. I am going to replace both, not from Seicane and see if that is the fix.


I have no experience with Dynavin units. Almost all posts about Dynavin have been positive other than the price. I don't recall what the negatives were. Initially I was sold on the Dynavin unit but after reading posts about the Seicane units I couldn't justify the difference in price.

I have the Dynavin N6 on my E53 and I'm tired of it. First, you lose all control over all dashboard settings -date/time, mpg reset etc. Secondly, it's a completely closed and proprietary system, meaning that you cannot install any new apps on it, and Dynavin has never provided any new apps other than updates for bug fixes. Lastly, it doesn't have access to wifi. You're stuck forever with whatever the unit shipped with. Which is the point I'm at and completely bored with it.

Having said the above, it's a good system in that it has a better sound than factory unit, supports DSP and the radio is at par with factory unit. It's also very OEM looking. I find its bluetooth, dvd, navigation and sd music top notch. And don't say that's more than enough, like I did. One quickly gets tired with what the unit came with and you eventually want to access the cyberspace and install more apps.
