I fitted a similar isolator to my 2002 4.4 .
I have lpg and the donut tank has to be removed (it sits on top of the battery)
and is quite awkward to remove to disconnect the battery.
Bought an engine lifting frame to get tank out.

I have them on just about everything else I own but I probably wont do one on the x5. Also I want to keep it looking 100% stock even though it wont be

All other bmw's have them but all I have to do on them is remove the plastic cover from over the battery and turn the knob.

Who knows though I may end up doing it eventually. They do come in handy.
It would look stock if you could fit the disconnect inside the side compartment. I'm thinking about doing that myself. It's such a PITA to get to the battery.

I emailed the company that makes the ibus unit again. I explain in this email that there probably would be a bunch of members interested in buying his ibus unit if this works and asked if they would at least let us know if its going to be awhile before it ships or something.

Not really used to total silence when buying something online.

Cool. I've been following his stuff for awhile and it seems awesome. Some of the projects utilizing it have been outstanding.

He just updated saying all stock was in so figured you'd have no trouble getting one of his units should you order from there.
