I have a non nav E53. It even has DSP so there'd be that fun. And I can get it to Alabama with very little trouble.

Except of course that I really want the install in my Nav E53. But the mother in law's radio display is shot and the wife would totally go for the conversion. I'd be totally in for messing around one weekend, but if you need it longer to make DIYs, that can be arranged I bet.

So.. what ya say?

Download this :

http://download.speedy-pics.de/uploa...9-IBUS-App.zip

Unzip it onto an usb drive.

Put the usb drive in a port on the radio.

Run the file browser app if it doesn't pop up on its own.

Then double tap the app and follow the directions.

Also the howto for that with pictures of every step is here :

Works for me the only issue is the weather. This stuff needs to be a spring time project since the days are shorter now and the weather is cooooold here.

I love doing the installs.

There wont be an email or anything with a code. The app checks online and activates. So make sure the radio has a wifi connection aka you can surf on it.

Sounds like a plan.

I set mine up at 11pm and it was activated around 6:30am the next morning.

Did you make sure you connected the antenna cable?

If you did there are some software settings for the country a user is in.

To set these if you are for sure you have the antenna connected right is as follows.

Go into settings.

Then factory settings.

The code it ask for is 126

There is a radio tab up top. Choose that and pick the correct country your in radio wise.
