I normally don't do flac because of the file size. The radio plays them fine. But unless its an album that shines with the extra bandwidth I normally don't bother.

Eagles Hotel California = flac

Taylor Swift -Reputation = flac

Journey = flac

Sir MixAlot - Baby Got Back = mp3

Cage the Elephant - Aint No Rest for the Wicked = mp3

Chamillionaire - the sound of revenge - ridin = mp3

It just depends on what the source audio has to offer as to whether I bother with flac or not.

Another thing to consider on sound quality with the factory nav radio vs the Seicane is that the frequency response is so much wider on the Seicane that mp3's sound better than the cd audio did on the factory radio. So even mp3's are an improvement in this situation.

Thanks for the input. When I do mine I will see if it play wav files and if not then I will go with the cd player in the glove box via usb like that other helpful member.

I am planning on improving the speakers well so the Cd/wav option is where I have to go.

It will play wav files too.

Here is what it can play out of the box.

MP3,WMA,WAV,APE,FLAC, MP4,H.264,WMV,AVI,RM/RMVB,VOB

Since its android you can add whatever support your want for other formats.

Then maybe there is hope for me. I will see about getting as much of my music in flac and then convert it to wav and put it on an sd card. I don't need 1000's of songs. I just want the highest quality with fewer songs. Then I can give up my cd changer.

Hi Gents. Thought I would reach out to you guys concerning my new Xtrons 9" Hu. It's the newest one they offer for the e53, with Android 8 Oreo, 4 gb ram/ 32gb, etc. Got it installed last night. Having an issue with bypassing park brake interlock/ebrake. It came built into the canbus harnessi think, as I didn't have to ground or hook up any sort of wire as I normally have had to do in the past. If I engage the ebrake, then video media will display. Anyone run into this yet? It appears to be a pink wire at play according to the radio schematic sticker on the unit. Thanks for any help in advance.

I don't have that one so I cant give a real fix for that.

But on most there is a setting in the "factory settings" section that allows you to bypass the safety feature all together.

If not then its just the parking brake wire on the radio. When connected to ground it makes the video playable all the time. At least that's how it has been on my older eonon radios.

What Crowz said...........

I found it very helpful to me in going through the entire settings menu to explore all the settings that are available.

In most of these Android systems there is a setting for watching video while driving.
