Was thinking of doing this to the soccer mom minivan. I have a almost brand new 350z exhaust removed with less then 500 miles on it to installed a performance exhaust. Really like the sound of the exhaust on my G35.

More about the go than the show.

I have found several 1 to 2 bolt on tips on ebay. They are cheap so I may try those. Only out $25 if I don't like them. So I guess that's the route I will try at first.
I had presumed you were going to get the mufflers from a salvage yard.

We don't have salvage yards around here sadly. We used to and I loved roaming them for odds and ends. But when the great cash for clunkers purge happened it pretty much killed most rural salvage yards.

I got some MagnaFlow tips welded into the new mufflers a few years back when I got rear ended. They look sharp.

A salvage yard in NV claims to have a 2004 4.4 X5 with both rear mufflers available for $105.00 each. With ground shipping you could be all in for around $300. That’s not bad

The only problem with buying junk yard mufflers is I have no way of knowing how long they will be silent. $300 for used mufflers seems kind of high for that.

But now that I think about it I have never had a muffler wear out so to speak on any of my bmw's. Have to think on this one some.

I’ve never seen one rust out & I live in the salt belt. The bonus of buying factory pieces is in the off chance they do rust out, you still have your old ones to bolt up. The link I sent looks like a high end salvage yard. If it arrived broken or bad, I’m sure they’d get you a replacement.

I'd strongly recommend Vibrant Performance. Even though some of their stuff is made in China or Taiwan, their quality is quite good and it's SS T304.
Vibrant Performance ::.
Whichever you choose, they would cost less than $100. The run cheaper
than what msrp shows.
