Lots of wires will show as having 12v positive on them with no load but like you summarized they can be data wires for the different bus configurations and other purposes. Always find a diagram for any connector your going to get power from and figure out what that wire is really for before tapping into it.

Will do, likely as mentioned below, the connection was to an optioned accessory I didn't order.

Yeah I'm sure that is a plausible conclusion. I'm just happy i got the whole setup working!
The nav prob is activating, the car goes to sleep after a certain time and the door wakes the car via canbus i believe, happens with the indicator on the shifter too!
