Thumbs up Greeting, and thank you!

Hello all,

Long post, but want to put this out there since I rarely ever post on forums.

I recently picked up an 02 X5 as a daily driver, which also happens to be my first bmw.

I’ve always been a fan of the X5s and M3s, howerever due to my not being a great driver I decided I really need the Audi’s Quattro in order not to kill myself lol. So I currently own an S4 for my fun car. I’ve had a few different daily drivers, but since I’ve always like the X5s I decided I would give one a try.

I picked up a pretty clean 02 X5, previously owned by the owner of an Indy bmw repair shop. Seemed to be very well maintained and the drive train seemed to be in excellent condition as well.

So, I've been going through the “let’s fix up the used car syndrome”.

I really want to thank the members of this site. Though I haven’t reached out or posted, I have used this site for so many items on this e53 and it’s been incredibly helpful!

I have used your help (through the threads) for so many items, such as research before buying, the common issues I should expect etc, and super simple things I couldn’t figure out.

I’ve used the forums help on the following items already:
* how to remove rear cargo cover
* the check brake light error and how to correct
* how to use the OBC
* how to fix broken door handle
* how to fix window regulator
* how address not having heat working (I can’t believe I couldn’t figure this one out lol. Totally didn’t see the dial in between the vents)
* how to install angel eyes
* how to remove spare tire
* aftermarket stereo installation

There are plenty of other items, but you get the point...without your help I probably would not be enjoying the e53 as a daily driver!

Thanks again to the community and the forums for all you’ve provided!!!
