After I swapped the pump and had it running it was showing no pressure. It was the adapter itself I had it cranked all the way down and nothing. I wanted to tent a kit from O'Reilly's but theirs was broken and warranty exchange. Go figure. Anyone have a good fuel system test kit that actually works?
Where did you get the entire assembly for $170? Link?

Its a southern parts chain called parks automotive. I will warn you their website is....lacking...in friendly. But the big warehouse is about two miles from where I work and twelve miles from my house so I jumped in my backup Ford ranger shit runner and got what I needdd

Fuel filter is really lifetime. The pressure can be measured under the hood pretty easy. I'm surprised even HF kit didn't work.

I would check the siphon jet side before you discover that it's leaking and you "run out of gas" with 1/4 tank.

yeah it was weird. its actually the adapter for the fuel rail that is badly designed...or my fuel rail schraeder valve is too short I dont know. its screws onto the rail completely but the cross bar that contacts and opens the schraeder valve in the fuel rail doesnt contact it enough to open it.

I got a genuine BMW complete fuel pump for $20.00 bucks at the local Pick N Pull. Took me just 15 minutes to remove it from the BMW. If I don't use it, I'll just put it on eBay and double or triple my investment.

that was my original plan but my upull only had two x5's and one the entire tank was gone and the other they had already ripped out the pump assembly and taken the pump itself. oh well.

also, after thinking on it a little I see why the harbor freight fuel pressure kit doesnt work. the shraeder valve is recessed in the fuel rail so there's no way the adapter can physically push it open when screwed down. looks like the simply thing to do is just unscrew the shraeder valve and put the adapter on that way since it has its own shraeder valve.

Ok yeah that was the issue. Pulled the shraeder valve and hooked up the gauge and hit the key, got 48lb. Cranked it and got 50lb constant for running 2 minutes. Cut it off and it held 45lb for 10 minutes. I'm good with that as I know most fuel injection systems run 35-60 psi depending on setup and whatever the for is set at.

It's supposed to be 50#. You do not need to replace the filter. Did you check the jet pump o-ring?

Aren't these two numbers the same? #50=50lb.

A used fuel pump in your vehicle? Why would you trust this not knowing how old it is and the history behind it? Just buy a new one and be done with it.
