New guy with BIG oil leak.

Good job: I think the official method does require removing the driver side oops USA bias showing: Port side ;-) axle to enable lifting the engine a bit to get some bolt out.

The leak was between the alternator bracket and the block. Oil will pour out at about an ounce per second! It took a quart of oil to move the car from one house to the house two doors over where it was going to get worked on!

Thank you. We bought our x5 for$1500 it has 130k miles. Well wort the $7 part and about 10 hrs of my labor to fix.
