Good ol P1351

Ugh, start the X this AM then as I start driving SES light blinks. Go to O'rileys for the code reader pulls P1351. I drove it this past weekend no issues. Today it ran like a turd no power, idles like crap. Been reading to see what it could be. I know I need to replace valve cover gaskets and spark plugs. Thing has a pretty bad leak and I'm guessing has dripped into the spark plugs possibly being the issue. Last time I checked under the oil cap, last week, no Mayo or anything pointing to a bad CCV. I will check later today to see if something magically changed in the few days it sat parked in 70* weather. Any other things I should be checking before I order parts?

Replaced the valve cover gaskets, spark plugs and boots this past weekend. Gaskets where in bad shape. Literally petrified in the valve cover. I've never seen gaskets that bad, glad they are done. Biggest hurdle was the stupid injector harness and having no room to work with on the driver side with the dang hoses. After several cursing fits things went smoother. There was A LOT of oil in the spark plugs. Especially in cylinder 3/4, 8 was pretty bad not the level of 3/4. While it drives a little better there is still a misfire in cylinder 5. The spark plug there wasn't bad, had normal fouling. I will try to swap the coil to another cylinder and see if it follows. I can definitely here this misfire in the exhaust on the driver side when I stand behind it. Sounds like a super loppy cam. So will try to swap 1 and 5.

Another thing that is kind of weird is the acceleration. From a stop and in 2nd it pulls pretty hard, once it's past 2nd there is no power, like honda 4 banger no power. I can be at 3.5-4k RPM's mash the gas and get nothing.

I'm hoping it's just a faulty coil and can get this beast ready for summer. Only got to put 400 miles on this year so far.

Swapped the coil to the other side. Misfire moved with it. New coil on the way. Hopefully resolves the issue and get this back and running.

Problem solved. Replaced the coil and no misfire. Thing runs a lot better, seriously like it got an 100hp back. Now to chase the reason the OBD says link error....
