BavSound clearance

I have been trying to consider as many options as I can find for upgrading my factory stereos in my X5's. While it looks like BSW is not likely to bring back their stage1 speaker upgrade for our older rigs...they finally put SOMETHING on their site that is relevant to this community.
I spoke to them this morning to confirm that while they are named replacements to stock "E53 X5 SUV Midbass Replacement for DSP Equipped Cars" (Hi-Fi also available)...that they are made by Bavsound and are upgrades to OEM. Not sure if anyone else is interested, but here is a link...

https://bavsoundclearance.com/collections/all

Enjoy,

Adam

Very handy information. See my posts about E53 speakers.

Door "speaker pods" are a midbass - for all versions and years.

Bavsound ver 1 was a Rainbow W 130 SLX with an adapter (I recently reproduced the recently for my car). Ver 2 was a 165 mm speaker with a custom metal frame, as the E53 pods need a 160 mm midbass (a rare, non-standard size). Watch their video on Youtube (ver 1) and you'll see it.

I wouldn't stress. It's not at all difficult to add good speakers. I wrote something about my experience on here. For $130, you can probably find better speakers with tweeters included. Mine were a little less.

Truth be told i did your mod!

My only qualm I had was the midbasss (JL TR's) clipped a bit too early for some reason

Couldn't have been the amp pooping out since the "same" DSP amp runs in my BSW E39 gives killer midbass response. Runs fine otherwise.

Jl Audio makes a nice 6 inch mid-bass driver. I had one defective bavsound driver and changed them out for the JLs. The JLs are nicely constructed.

What specific JL Audio midbass would this be? I'll be helping some other locals with their E53 needs - so it will be either Rainbow W 130 SLX, Bavauto clearance (if still available) or JL Audio.

JL Audio C2-600 is the woofer component and tweeter and C2-600 is the individual 6 inch woofer. Great performing drivers and excellent quality build.

Got my speakers...

I'm following up to this original post in hopes that some REALLY HONEST member ordered a pair of the speakers from the link I posted. I only received one of the two pairs that I ordered and think the other one went to the other person who ordered the last pair of DSP Mid-bass by mistake. If said person is reading this and DID receive two pairs instead of one, I REALLY hope that they can let me know as my new system relies on both pairs. It could be a long-shot, I know. I waited 3+ years for BSW to get anything in stock for our e53's and was so elated when I found these, that I wanted to share the love with the forum. Bavsound is willing to refund me for one of the pairs, but I really just want what I ordered - both pairs. If the other one is out there - I would love to find it again.
