It's alive!!! No shakes, no howling noticed yet, everything seems smooth so far.

I need a frosty adult beverage, and a week long vacation....

Thanks to everyone for your inputs! It was very much appreciated. I needed a sounding board, ya'll didn't let me down. Great group!

Now to return the CV axle, which is in 3 pieces.... I'm thinking I won't be issued a full refund!

New CV Axle won't go all the way in, and now I can't get it out!

Vacation paid for by the savings of not replacing the differential and not paying mechanic Labor on the CV

That's my favorite BMW wheel style. Model 69. Took a lot of searching to find a set for my X5 only to find out via VIN decoding that my car CAME WITH 69s! Grrrrr.

Somebody else replicated this issue amd would love to know from your experience, would you be able to push the stuck CV out from the other side with hydraulics or did you have to disassemble the dif to be able to do It?

Agreed!
I've done a shit ton of axles in my day(not the BMW yet though) and they all have just slidden in after an initial wiggle to get the c-clip compressed and started into the spline. After the initial wiggle and started in give it a good shove by hand and you'll get a good solid clunk when it's seated.
