Splash Shield Question

Fellas,

i have a 2003 4.4i and i'm getting to replace my oil pan this coming weekend because last time i did my oil change, i stripped the drain plug . anyway i'm due for an oil change, and i have decided to completely change the oil pan.

my question is, i prefer to do the job on a ramp. can i remove the bolts on the splash shield and put them back while the car is on the ramp. because last time i removed the bolts on the shield, it took some wheel turning to get the bolt holes to align for me to put the bolts back on.

so basically can i do the job on the ramp, or do i need to put the car on car stands?

thanks,
note: i expected the oil pan for a 4.4 liter engine to be bigger. this oil pan is small.

I was doing something else and had the left wheel off to access behind the fender liners and I’m sure you can do it with the wheel in place but removing the wheel will be much much easier x100 lol

you're right. i guess i have no option but to put the car on jack-stands and remove the wheels first.
