LED Tails - yay or nay

In the middle of some lighting tweaks and revisited looking at rear led tails. Last time I looked was maybe 5 years ago ?

Nothings changed I suppose. While I do appreciate the brighter reds, the looks of the - either led size or placement/density, just doesn't do it for me

I tend to lean that way too. But I did change the signal lights and license plate lights to led bulbs. I suppose I could replace the brake lights to led bulbs as well but did not want to mess with the adaptive braking as I wasn't sure how that worked exactly. Might code it off and switch to led bulbs...

I just did my morning hemming-hawing on the front turns - considered some various canbus style LEDS. At the end of the day, I think I still prefer what the halogen offers in the front signals.

However, I am looking, considering canbus bulbs in the rear. I think the rear lights are more directional per se....so no ill will going from halogen to led.

Not changing the lower hatch. Got here wired up since 2004 or so with the Rear Fogs

I did front LED turns as well to go with the rears. With the advances in bulbs the difference in brightness is nil, or extremely close to it. I certainly have no problem seeing the turns in the reflections of other vehicles. Wonder if I made a video how it would look compared to what is seen in person.

Fitted a set of Spyder's about seven years ago and no regrets. Love the brightness when I step on the anchors.

This is the only route I would consider going down. I absolutely agree, LEDs in oem housing are cool! Beyond that, im not into the crazy led clusters or E70 style hatch lights. But everyone has their own preferences

I agree that OEM taillights are the best. Yet, I found these the other day. Looks good on the picture. Not sure about real life.

Looks like these https://www.ebay.com/itm/Smoke-2000-...W%7CModel%3AX5

As a technology I'm not opposed to LEDs but I haven't found any better looking taillights than the OEM ones. They all look tacky, the styling just doesn't go with the car IMO
