Unfortunately it IS a stick. And I agree... it's sad. But with the price of these things being like $4000 at a "last chance" "sub-prime" "no credit" "bad credit" type dealership. It's easy to see how so many of them end up like this.

Just one repair can easily outprice the cost of the vehicle if it's bad enough (trans, Xfer case, diff, etc). That's the world the e53 lives in right now. Personally I'm glad. I'll probably end up with another 4.8is if I find the right deal on one and hold onto them until they become true enthusiast vehicles like all of BMW's good drivers eventually do.

CVX20 is on a distinguished road
Picked up my 02 X5 for $3000 with approx 70k miles last winter from the original owners adult son.Was looking at MDX's because they come pretty well equipped and then somehow migrated to the X5 for the same reason.The X5's(BMW's in general)scare most people around here(so they're cheap) with their repair costs but I figure that being a licensed tech and purchasing a Foxwell NT510 they're still just nuts and bolts and I can keep it running.So far so good.
