Help with INPA

Need some help with INPA guys.

I installed and only part of it works.

I can access everything under the engine menu and see live data and values and all but when in comes to connecting to the chassis menu it gives me an error. Something like control not found or cannot connect and just exists.

Trying to access lcm and etc.

This is for all other functions but the engine menu.

Can anyone advise what to look for?

Do a search about disabling/shorting some of the pins in the connection cable.

I bought a K+DCAN OBD2 on ebay, I'll search about that.

Yes, I think that is the wrong cable and you will need to modify it. I think you probably need the cheapo chinesium blue cable instead of the silver one.

If you want a really good explanation of the difference and a really good cable check out "one stop electronics"

You should really look at getting yourself a package that includes DIS-57.

wpoll will become famous soon enough
I use a cable that I got from One Stop Electronics - the simple INPA / Ediabas KK USB Interface adapter - $20.

Most BMW interface cables will work OK - as long as pins #7 and #8 are connected together - but I don't think the newer K+DCAN OBD2 cable work directly. See this info from One Stop Electronics that explains this - and how to get around it...

http://www.osefactory.com/tools/k+dc...patibility.pdf

*edit* - here's the adapter you'll most likely need...

I am using a cheap K+D CAN cable with the silver braided wire and clear OBD connection with a green pcb - I had to soldered pins 7 and 8 together to get INPA and NCS Expert working for E46 and E53.

With my previous 2008 E60, the pins has to be separate as I wasn't able to code with them connected.

Thank you gents. I just ran into this same problem. I thought it was the software, posted a duplicate question of this one here and then saw this post.

Anyway, 5 mins later pins 7 & 8 were soldered and INPA can now read other modules.

DIS and Progman are 2 different programs. There are a couple of different vendors on Ebay selling software packages. I don't know about the "Romanian guy" that everyone talks about though.
