PA Soft 1.4/INPA

I need to get some software coming to interact with the two X5 4.6is's that I recently bought. I see guys use either PA Soft 1.4 or INPA. I'm not above ordering both as I see that they're each useful in their own way.

Now here's my question: which one of each to get? I look on eBay and there's multiples of each one, with wildly ranging pricing. Are there ones to avoid? Are they all the same? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I would recommend getting a package that includes DIS (much better than INPA for code related diagnostics) Progman SSS(or I guess PA soft) for easy key related programming and NCS expert and NCS Dummy if you want to get further into coding modules.

Has been some time since this subject has come up but most have purchased the suite from the Rumanian vender.

Bear in mind that the program is robust so it takes a lot of hard drive space. It also requires the Window format. Many of us have a dedicated laptop running Windows XP which in the past was the best version to use to run the program. You will also need to purchase an IBUS to USB connector.

I have used it two or three times in 5 years. I've had no reason to do any coding and I have more portable and far more intuitive diagnostic tools.

I can't tell you which exact packages are the problem but MANY of the PASoft packages include nasty viruses, completely free of charge....

Take care and scan everything!

I don't recall anyone who purchased the Suite from source in Romania having any virus problems.

I haven't heard of any virus issues with those packages either - the issues I've seen are with a few of the other packages offered on eBay and AliExpress... or even some of the downloadable packages.

Possibly a rare problem but it pays to check...

Thanks to everyone who responded! I will definitely scan for viruses!

I don't imagine that, once I have coded the vehicles to my liking, I would use the coding software much after that. Both of these X5's are new to me, and I intend to keep them both, so I do want to personalize them.

bcredliner, what kind of diagnostic software are you using with your X5 on a more regular basis?

I have ISTA from the Romanian seller on eBay. It covers e53, up to 2016 (or 17?) of other models. I found it easier and quicker to use compares to inpa and DIS. I don’t mess with the coding, just use for diagnostic scans etc.
