Yeah, that was a WTF moment for me too. Definitely turned that one off after playing with it. I really want to try the comfort folding mirrors, I wish I had some...

If you have the android radio up and running, you should be able to set most of this with the IBus app and USB key/interface.

I've been playing with settings on the corner lights- Basically, your driving/fog light comes on at or below speeds you set when your signals are activated (unless they're already on, of course). This and 'comfort blinking' are some of my favorite reasons to have the Android head unit. A short touch of the signal stalk and your signals will 'blink' as many times as you wish up to a max. I think mine are at 3 blinks now. Love it.

Still using factory radio/CD in mine with A2DP. I have seen some of the menus in the app everyone gets with their android radios and there are certainly some nice features. One thing I have not seen is the parking lights (halos) with ignition on. But I guess some of the guys over on XDA Developers forum could write the code. Not sure.

I did order Rolf Resler's IBus interface to link to Navcoder to have some way of further understanding of the BMW IBus. I guess if I ever go android, I will have the interface for the app.

I had emailed modlights like two weeks ago and he said it couldn't/doesn't work to run AEs as running lights.

It can't currently I know. That's why I asked him if he would add it to the menu. Everything needed is there. The halos, the ignition on signal, etc. Should be a simple code to add the menu item. We'll see what he says.

That's exactly what you see in my pic. No side ambers on while halos are lit. I just happen to have the fogs selected as DRLs.
Little more difficult to see here:

Yeah but are you in parking light position on the light switch? That's what we are trying to get past. I can turn off my dimmed turns as parking lights, that's easy. I want the halos on with nothing more than ignition switch on.

Going to need to put on my thinking cap here on how I would use said device if I had one. My lower fogs are HID. Not that I care much about bulb life as the cost of these sorta bulbs have dropped down dramatically since back in the days. Going to have to google to see what ill effects or not the momentary power pulses do to ballasts/ignitors

I think what Propellerhead is saying that with the iBUS app w/ the USB allows him to code it like we want to.

But need an android headunit. Main reason I haven't gotten one is:

1. I really like the OEM MK4 as it does what I need, I have Android units on my other cars and all the bells and whistles were a novelty after playing around for the couple days and never touched them again.

2. I hear it's not a simple plug and play for DSP owners and have to run the cable from the front to the trunk so that's another thing I don't want to deal with. Even then might not work? (no sound)

3. Price (yes it's reasonable but I got many other things I need to attend to first =)

Yes I think there are many options for the IBus app on th android radios. I do see that one setting is for park lights a DRL. I wish someone with one of the android radios and app would try this and let us know.
