Where do you plan on installing the amps and the sub? Assuming that big sub will not fit in the existing sub location?

I did an audio system last year, also had JL V1/ V2 amps, but went went the newer HD style amps, 1200/1 and 600/4 to power a Critical Mass U12 and some Audison speakers. I used a Kenwood headunit, but it does look quite small with such a large shroud/cover. The android units really bring the looks to modern times.
Have any pics? Always looking for inspiration.

The amps will go where the current load floor is. Probably come up to about the same level if I can manage it. Maybe a little higher if the amps demand it. The sub is going to be in a wedge design sealed box behind the reclined seats. Going to make sure the seats are in full recline position before busting out the angle finder for the wedge. Sub is going to down fire on the bottom of the box.

^That's the plan currently. Could change during the prototype phase when I have all my cardboard mockups made.

Nothing exciting to update but just ordered my cameras. Trying to get all my accessories lined up so I can begin installing the new head unit.

For the rear I went with the one Crowz used in his writeup. Thanks for the info.

For the front DVR camera I went with this integrated unit. Curious to see how well it fits and matches the other upper trim.

Please post a picture when you get the front one in. Where did you get that one? I saw //Avin shows them but out of stock.

They are available on Ebay and even Amazon. I went with the Amazon option as it was a Prime item. Gets here tomorrow and was just under $70. Earlier in the year I almost ordered the Avant 3 but they were out of these cameras so I held off. I'm glad I did now as I am looking forward to this head unit. That screen real estate is just awesome.

Was also thinking of ordering TPMS system for the android units but it takes up a USB input and seems redundant given the factory TPMS at least throwing an idiot light when variance between tires gets too great. Always been good enough for me.

I have been less that satisfied with //Avin so far. I ordered the Avant-3 and it is not due now until Jan21 but I knew this going in. My real complaint is the lack of direct communication with anyone over there. Nobody is ever live in the chat box on the site and when I send a message they do get back to me but never with any answers to my questions.

I have been trying to understand the wiring for the camera systems and ordered the Dual DVR camera system several weeks ago to get it here in my hands so I can see exactly how it is wired. I know the front is a USB and asked multiple times how the rear integrates. Nobody can give me a straight answer so I just ordered it and paid separate shipping.

When I asked this past week why it hasn't been shipped yet I got a reply that the Avant-3 is all new and is back ordered. I didn't ask about the Avant-3, I asked about my Dual DVR camera system and even provided the order number.

Then no reply at all. I am a half a step away from cancelling my orders from //Avin and demanding a full refund.

^ I hear you. Tommy was pretty good with my avant 2 order and warranty replacement. But nobody can answer any technical questions.

Wish I had the head unit installed and could give you a review of it. Might help your decision. This time I didn't see the benefit to the Avin over a standard android unit as I am ditching dsp and the hardware has come so far. Weren't enough benefits to the avant... And preorders really get my goat. Avant 3 was delayed for so long it didn't bode well.

Yeah I tried the direct Tommy route explaining in a lengthy email that I was not a 16yo with limited experience. I told him what I do for a living and was more than capable of professional installation and needed a couple of questions answered. No return email at all.

Crowz will become famous soon enough
Coming along nicely !

Hopefully I get my 2001 X5 this weekend. Then I can go over it and figure out what Im going to do for it.

It seems to have every bell and whistle available for that year from the pictures

It has the sport seats or whatever those are the have the part that extends where you legs are. The sport steering wheel. Looks to have the pano roof but Im not sure on that.

Has xenon headlights, rear air suspension.

Don't know much else beyond that.
