Angel Eyes - 2002 X5

I had a 2001 X5 5 years ago, as I recall the headlamps were sealed units and the lens were not removable to replace or install angel eyes in.

I recall reading a thread about putting them in the oven to crack them, which I will not be doing.

Have any of you found any sensible solutions for that, or does that topic remain - "it is what it is?"

wpoll will become famous soon enough
Only two options... bake 'em open and add AEs or replace them with aftermarket headlights that include AEs.

So yeah, it is what it is..

^ This. And every aftermarket headlight for the E53 looks horrible IMHO. So baking is your only option. "It is what it is"

I prefer cutting to baking, but neither option is easy. Took me a couple of days to complete mine.

And I still love my bi-xenon DEPO headlights with AE's.

Those actually look good in the image. Do the corners look stock when lit?

I put orange bulbs in the corners so they do look standard when lit at night. You could put white bulbs in or even LED bulbs if you wanted.

If I had pre LCI I would seriously consider those!
